Senior Airman Joshua Correa distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as a Ground Radio Technician, 445th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron, 838th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group, Shindand Air Base, Afghanistan. During this period, Airman Correa's technical skill and mission dedication was a crucial element in establishing Afghanistan's Regional Command West supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. While under the threat of indirect fire, Airman Correa skillfully maintained Land Mobile Radio repeater infrastructure for six networks and seven unrepeated channels providing 300 users with secure wireless communications aiding in base command and control. Furthermore, Airman Correa was hand selected by the Air Force Office of Special Investigation to install and maintain 90 thousand dollars in ultra high frequency radio equipment providing secure inter squad communications and reach back capability, restoring halted counter terrorist missions. Finally, Airman Correa provided the Base Defense Operations Center with intelligence and surveillance by contributing 40 hours as Entry Control Point over watch, sustaining the safety and security of 3,500 members. The distinctive accomplishments of Airman Correa reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
