SrA Mary Angelica Ong demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication to her duties as a Food Inspector during her time at Ramstein Air Base. During her tenure, she conducted 518 food inspections, identifying 369 discrepancies across 76 food and public facilities for two installations which resulted in significant cost savings for the commissary, including saving $21k worth of food products by extending the shelf-life of 13,289 items.

SrA Ong also demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, filling an E-5 position for two months and leading briefings for 50 food employees on food safety training. She trained multiple Airmen on the food safety program and ensured that education was provided to food facilities that had non-compliant ratings for three months.

Additionally, SrA Ong has been a crucial player in coordinating and conducting various inspections, including three UGR/MRE inspections, 18 multi-d inspections, 18 comprehensive inspections, and 34 FVA inspections for two installations. She also coordinated with Security Forces in identifying a truck delivery where the food products were not being properly stored, saving the commissary over $4k in the condemnation of food.

SrA Ong demonstrated exceptional professional development, completing her CCAF and being task-certified for 10 CDC employees. She has also been the infection control POC for the flight for eight months.

SrA Ong has also shown exceptional dedication to her community, coordinating and managing events such as the Bazaar and Freedom Fest, which had 29 and 30 booths, respectively, and 10,000 attendees each. She also conducted a formation for a squadron change of command and briefed 27 members for inflight training.

As SrA Ong prepares to PCS to Yokota Air Base, I am confident that she will bring the same level of dedication, professionalism, and leadership to her new assignment. Her contributions to the commissary, food safety program, and community events have been invaluable, and I highly recommend her for continued success in her career.
