Moreover, his wingman mentality supported the Nursing Flight by assisting in launching and recovering 83 missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Senior Airman Carrie A. Zent distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Diet Therapy Apprentice, 59th Diagnostic and Therapeutics Squadron, 59th Medical Wing, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. During this period, Airman Zent's outstanding professional skill, knowledge, and leadership aided immeasurably in standing up three teams for the first ever 332 MMDESS Nutrition Weight Loss program, intially servicing 22 members deployed in Iraq. Additionally, her knowledge of subsistence procedures and meticulous handing of supplies ensured the 1.4 million dollar budget was discrepancy free and directly contributed to 59th MDTS AFMS Nutritional Medicine Team of the Year award. During this period, Sergeant Wenger served as the sole nutritian consultant for 12 providers and planned and excecuted all diet related education events and classes in support of Air Force Fitness and Weight loss programs. Additionally, he obtained his Fitness Training Certification and utillized his skills to facilitate the launch of the Medical Group fitness program. Furthermore, Sergeant Wenger was selected as Air Force Space Command Diet Therapist Technician of the Year and was key to the 460th Medical Group Health Services Inspection which led to the Group's first "Outstanding" rating. Senior Airman Gillian C. Ralford distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Diet Therapist, 944th Aeromedical Staging Squadron (ASTS), 944th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. During this period, Airman Ralford provided medical nutrition therapy to over one thousand active duty and DoD beneficiaries. She conducted dietary rounds to interview over 200 patients on regular and therapeutic diets to determine satisfaction. She also counseled over 75 new cardiac and diabetic patients concerning their new diet plans. Additionally, she served as liaison to 22 Squadron commanders in over 36 fitness review panels over a two year period. The distinctive accomplishments of Senior Airman Ralford reflect credit upon herself, the 944th Aeromedical Staging Squadron and the United States Air Force.
