Staff Sergeant Theresa F. Jackson distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Food Service Shift Leader, 56th Force Support Squadron, 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, from XXXXX XXXXXX to XXXXX XXXXXXX. During this period, Sergeant Jackson provided outstanding food service support to over 3,000 Airmen and civilians at the Ray V. Hensman Dining Facility by serving over one million meals. In this important assignment, her expert culinary skills were instrumental to food services winning the Air Education and Training Command Food Excellence Award for the first time in six years. Additionally, Sergeant Jackson deployed to Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzstan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM where she served as Quality Assurance Evaluator for a four million dollar food service contract in support of 30,000 coalition forces. Her diligent supervision ensured around-the-clock service and was indispensable to mission success. Further, she dedicated 20 hours to informing Luke Air Force Base dependent children about the deployment process. Her stalwart efforts to reduce family deployment anxiety was recognized by the Commander when she was coined for her efforts in OPERATION KIDS. Senior Airman April M. Harrington distinguished herself by meritorious service as Food Service Journeyman, 7th Force Support Squadron, 317th Airlift Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXX. During this period, Airman Harrington skillfully managed 800,000 dollars in food and equipment, and 16 military personnel in feeding operations that produced over 120,000 meals for personnel in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Despite austere working conditions and extreme heat, she successfully safeguarded a rotating perishable food inventory worth more than 400,000 dollars, reducing spoilage by ten percent and recouping 10,000 dollars in lost sustenance. In addition, her years of experience were essential to the purchase of 500,000 dollars of subsistence and meeting the food operation's financial goal of three percent loss. Moreover, during a three-day period, Airman Harrington manually unloaded seven shipping containers and six aircraft pallets of food, working 14-hour days until the job was complete, earning herself the 7th Group Commander's "Hard Charger" award and the Services Flight's "Airman of the Month". Staff Sergeant Brian S. Hainstock distinguished himself by outstanding achievement as Food Service Journeyman, 386th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron, 386th Expeditionary Mission Support Group, 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait from XXXXX XXXXXX to XXXXX XXXXXXX. During this period, while deployed in support of Operation NEW DAWN, Sergeant Hainstock supervised and facilitated a 23 million dollar food service contract, delivering more than one million meals to deployed service members. Additionally, he organized a variety of specialty meals including after-hours events, monthly birthday celebrations, and the Thanksgiving Day luncheon, dramatically improving the quality of life for over 3,100 joint personnel. Moreover, he accepted responsibility for and prepared 3,400 scheduled and unscheduled flight meals in direct support of visiting air crew members. Finally, Sergeant Hainstock supported two cultural bazaars that hosted 22 vendors, generating 1,900 dollars for Wing morale and welfare projects. Senior Airman Douglas C. Matthews distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as Food Service Journeyman, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron, 27th Special Operations Wing, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. During this period, the professional skill and significant accomplishments of Airman Matthews directly enhanced the quality of life for six thousand Air Commandos and joint coalition forces. He supervised five Airmen and three civilians in providing 84,000 meals in support of 14,000 flying missions. In addition, as shift leader he was a vital factor in the success of Cannon's 7.2 million dollar second dining facility opening. Further, he helped implement the Food 2.0 startup for Cannon Air Force Base by relocating 300,000 dollars worth of kitchen equipment and preparing over one hundred box meals during the dining facility closure. Finally, his hard work and dedication contributed to Cannon Air Force Base winning Region Two finalist for the John L. Hennessy Food Excellance Award two years in a row and earned him the Hennessy Top Performer Award. The distinctive accomplishments of Airman Matthews reflect credit upon himself, the 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron and the United States Air Force.




Senior Master Sergeant Katherine C. Headly distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Superintendent, 23rd Force Support Squadron, 23rd Wing, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. During this period, Sergeant Headly provided exceptional oversight of a 35 million dollar operation consisting of 14 facilities and 116 personnel that served over 250,000 meals, lodged 25,600 guests, and entertained 245,000 patrons, enhancing the quality of life for 5,500 base residents and fortifying over 11,200 successful sorties. Under her leadership, five million dollars in quality of life initiatives were launched incorporating the Turn-n-Burn flight kitchen, temporary lodging facilities, Aerobic Annex, new fitness equipment, running trails, and sports fields. Furthermore, Food operations claimed the coveted 2012 Air Combat Command Hennessy award for the first time in 23 years and Lodging scored an outstanding 90 percent on their staff assistance visit in preparation for Accreditation. Finally, as Senior Enlisted Leader, she led the team to capture the 23rd Wing Team Spirit award and Satisfactory rating resulting in no major findings during the 2012 Headquarters Air Combat Command Operational Readiness Inspection. Senior Airman Wesley N. Osborne distinguished himself by outstanding achievement as Missile Alert Facility Chef, 741st Missile Squadron, 91st Operations Group, 91st Missile Wing, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. During this period, Airman Osborne deployed to the missile field for 260 days and prepared more than 8,000 meals for nuclear operations, security, and maintenance personnel. In addition, he precisely accounted for over 17,000 dollars in sales, contributing to the operations group winning the Hennessy Trophy for the best missile feeding program in Air Force Global Strike Command for both 2009 and 2010. Furthermore, Airman Osborne demonstrated superb dedication by preparing over 120 extra meals for maintenance teams in support of a critical missile alert facility sustainment modification. Finally, his excellence on and off duty led to his selection as the 91st Missile Wing's representative in the second annual Minot Air Force Base Warrior Chef Challenge.
