Senior Airman Luis J. Trumbo distinguished himself by meritorious service as Electrical and Environmental Systems Journeyman, 909th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 18th Maintenance Group, 18th Aircraft Maintenance Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan from XXXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXXX. During this period, Airman Trumbo's expertise was highlighted when he found and repaired a misaligned bleed air duct that was causing an intermittent but chronic pressurization fault. His consistent high quality maintenance actions contributed directly to the squadron sustaining an 89 percent Mission Capable rate in calendar year 2015, exceeding the standard by four percent. In addition, Airman Trumbo helped to launch and evacuate 14 assigned aircraft as typhoon Kompasu approached, sustaining the Air Force's power and reach in the Pacific. Finally, his actions contributed to the squadron receiving an overrall "Excellent" rating on the 2015 Unit Compliance Inspection. Senior Airman Robert D. Stoop distinguished himself by meritorious service as Electro-Environmental Systems Journeyman, 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 18th Aircraft Maintenance Group, 18th Aircraft Maintenance Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan, from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXX. During this period, Airman Stoop saved 650 million dollars in Air Force assets when he swiftly launched 12 KC-135 aircraft in less than five hours and secured them from the destructive path of Typhoon Melor. Additionally, Airman Stoop isolated and replaced a leaking oxygen regulator, restoring the aircraft's oxygen system and returning the aircraft to full mission capable status and directly contributing to the 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron earning the 2010 Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Further, Airman Stoop deployed in direct support of Operation Glass Titan where he troubleshot an elusive fault and replaced a defective power amplifier, returning the aircraft to scheduled refuel support for 130 F-22 refuel training missions. Finally, Airman Stoop, leading from the back, certified himself on several crew chief tasks to fill a vacancy in an undermanned position and prevent maintenance lapses. Senior Airman John P. Abad distinguished himself by meritorious service as Electrical and Environmental Systems Journeyman, 909th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 18th Aircraft Maintenance Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan, from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXX. During this period, Airman Abad quickly responded and isolated a burnt out relay for a fuel boost pump which returned the aircraft to duty and facilitated the offload of 55,000 gallons of fuel to an E-3 AWACS mission. Additionally, Airman Abad identified and replaced a pilot's faulty oxygen regulator that had been overlooked during a preflight inspection. His stalwart actions contributed to over 320 training sorties flown in support of Exercise Ryukyu Warrior. Finally, Airman Abad was hand selected as part of the maintenance package in support of the joint international Exercise Valiant Shield where the team generated 88 sorties, over 425 flight hours, and offloaded 6.5 million pounds of fuel. The distinctive accomplishments of Airman Abad reflect credit upon himself, the 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the United States Air Force.
