Technical Sergeant Elizabeth L. Maestas distinguished herself by meritorious service as Hazmat NCOIC, Supply Division, Logistics Directorate, Air Force Element, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXX. During this period, Sergeant Maestas' unsurpassed leadership skills were critical to the upgrade and accuracy of the Mobility Inventory Control Accountability System database. She was the driving force behind the update of over 40,000 Chemical Warfare Defense Equipment items worth four million dollars while saving the Air Force 1,250 manpower hours. In addition, she deployed to Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras and provided vital joint logistical support by managing 29 sub-hand receipts of equipment valued at more than 8,000,000 dollars with no losses. Further, she performed monthly hand receipt reconciliations and identified and turned in excess equipment valued at $330,000 to the Supply Support Activity warehouse. Finally, Sergeant Maestas' professionalism and dedication to duty directly contributed to the 11th Logistics Readiness Squadron earning the Air Force District of Washington Logistics Readiness Squadron of the Year awards for 2011 and 2012. Master Sergeant Walter White distinguished himself by meritorious service as Fire Protection Station Chief, 62nd Civil Engineer Squadron, 62nd Airlift Wing, McChord Air Force Base, Washington. During this period, the professional skill, leadership, and ceaseless efforts of Sergeant White contributed to the effectiveness and success of the Washington State Regional Hazardous Materials exercise. He supervised over 140 emergency response personnel from thirteen organizations, integrating and improving multi-agency operational readiness. Additionally, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, he expertly managed Al Udied's flightline driver's training program certifying over 50 firefighters and ensuring 100 percent mission capability. Finally, Sergeant White single handedly identified deficiencies in critical aircraft fire fighting apparatuses response equipment. His expeditious response prevented potential mishaps and guaranteed full compliance with National Fire Protection Association standards. The distinctive accomplishments of Master Sergeant White reflect credit upon himself, the 62nd Civil Engineer Squadron and the United States Air Force.
